As a Technical Sales Engineer for Distribution Automation at Hitachi Energy, you will be responsible for promoting and selling products and automation solutions that enhance the reliability, efficiency, and sustainability of power distribution networks. You will combine deep technical expertise with strong commercial skills to deliver value-driven products and solutions to utilities, industrial customers, and channel partners. This role plays a pivotal part in driving digitalization and grid modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales of Hitachi Energy’s Distribution Automation portfolio, including Distribution Automation solutions, protection relays, RTUs, and communication products
• Develop and execute account strategies to achieve sales targets and market share growth
• Identify new business opportunities and manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract closure
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, product management, and service to tailor offerings to customer needs
• Provide technical support and solution design during pre-sales and post-sales phases
• Understand client requirements for distribution automation and propose suitable solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation, or related field
• 5–7 years of experience in technical sales within the power distribution or automation sector
• Strong knowledge of distribution automation solutions, protection and control, and communication protocols
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong focus on understanding customer pain points and tailoring solutions accordingly
